I am concerned about a bill working its way through the Georgia Legislature. GA Senate Bill 415 aims to limit lawsuits against big insurance companies. This means those who are in an accident due to the negligence of others may find it harder to get the compensation they deserve.
At Fry | Goehring, it is our mission to fight for real people who are injured and need an advocate against corporations and insurance companies. So when we see laws that could tip the scales against those we represent, we take notice.
The bill’s main sponsor is Sen. Steve Gooch, R-Dahlonega who claims it will reduce the cost of doing business in Georgia. But the tactics used to railroad it through committee without proper vetting is suspicious. And the technical aspects of the bill are oriented to help big insurance and not the victim.
